There are number of places and cities to visit in Punjab which have historical importance. Some of the cities are truly amazing and less explored by the tourists. Amritsar
Though the place is very popular and visited by millions due to the Holy and famous Har Mandar Sahib known as Golden Temple. Not to miss the Temple and the serene experience inside it. The city of Amritsar which now boasts of an International Airport is the significant seat of Sikh history and culture, trade centre. Baghah Border close to Amritsar is yet another famous tourist destination and is also the gateway for travelers from India going to Pakistan and vice versa through Baghah Border.
The unfortunate memories of Jalianwala Bagh are still intact and you can still see the bullet marks on the walls of the Jalianwala Bagh. The Well inside the garden has been converted to a memorial. The first British Prime Minister after Independence to visit Jalianwala bagh was David Cameron who paid visit to Jalianwala Bagh in February 2013. Some people were of the opinion that he should have apologized for the incident but rather The Prime Minister said that it was very unfortunate and sad incident that should not have happened.
Distance of Amritsar from Chandigarh is about 235 Kms and Amritsar from New Delhi is around 450 Kms. Amritsar is well connected by GT road National Highway from Delhi, Chandigarh, Ludhiana, Jalandhar. Number of trains is available from all parts of the country to Amritsar including Delhi Amritsar Shatabadi Express.
International Flights from Dubai, Sharjah Middle East, Taskent, Doha, Ashgabat etc to Amritsar are available. Daily flights are available from Chandigarh, Delhi, Mumbai and other cities
Bhatinda
Distance of Bhatinda from Delhi is about 325 Km and is well connected by well maintained highway.
Bhatinda is a small but beautiful city in Punjab connected by rail from all parts of Punjab India and the capital and Delhi. Regular train services are available from Delhi and it takes approximately 6 hours.
Frequent buses are available from Delhi takes around 5 to 6 hours. Buses also ply from other cities like Chandigarh, Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Amritsar, Patiala etc.

Nangal
Nangal is about 105 Kms from Chandigarh. Distance from Delhi Nangal is around 360 Kms. Nangal is famous for the Nangal Dam. Bhakhra is also close to Nangal around 20 Kms.
Nangal is well connected by Road and Rail from Delhi and other parts of Punjab and India. Trains run on Delhi to Una Himachal via Nangal. "Himachal express" is one train on this route that connects Delhi to Nangal.

Patiala
One of the historical and amazing places in Punjab Patiala is located about 240 Kms from Delhi. Distance of Patiala is only about 65 Kms from Chandigarh, 95 Kms from Ludhiana, 235 Kms from Amritsar.
Also known as the Princely state, Patiala boasts of splendid Forts, Palaces, and many other places of interest which include the famous and magnificent Patiala Fort, amazing Sheesh Mahal, and stunning Moti Bagh Palace. The other main places which are must see in Patiala arr Gurdwara Dukh Niwaran Sahib, Ghuram which is located about 40 kms from Patiala enroute to Pehowa.
Just about few kms from Patiala is located the wonderful Bahadurgarh Fort built in 1837.
Mughal Sarai Shambhu is situated in a small Village near Patiala about 11 Kms. The village is Shambhu on Rajpura-Ambala road.
